Wayanad Tour Packages
Rainforest highlands in the northern Western Ghats
Part of Hills & Wildlife
Wayanad sits further north than Munnar and sees a fraction of the visitors, which is exactly its appeal. The district is mostly forest, part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, with a wildlife sanctuary that connects to Bandipur and Mudumalai across the state line, giving elephants and other wildlife room to roam between all three. Coffee, not tea, is the dominant crop here, grown in the shade of silver oak and jackfruit trees.
We use Wayanad for travellers who want Kerala's hills without the tea-estate crowds: a rainforest trek to a viewpoint like Chembra or Banasura, a jeep safari through the wildlife sanctuary, and a walk through a working spice and coffee estate. It pairs naturally with Kozhikode (Calicut) to the west if you're routing through north Kerala rather than Kochi.

Frequently asked questions
Is Wayanad better than Munnar for wildlife?
For wildlife specifically, yes: Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary sees more elephant and occasional tiger activity than the tea-estate areas around Munnar. For tea-garden scenery and viewpoints, Munnar is still the stronger choice. Many of our itineraries include both.
How do I get to Wayanad?
The nearest airports are Kozhikode (Calicut, about 2.5 hours) and Kochi (about 5 to 6 hours). We usually route Wayanad through Kozhikode for a north-Kerala trip, or add it onto a Munnar itinerary via a scenic but longer road transfer.
How many days do I need in Wayanad?
Two to three nights covers a trek, a wildlife safari, and a plantation walk at a comfortable pace. Extend to four or five if you want to add a homestay experience or a second trek.
